“Across the country, Americans are still struggling to fill the gas tanks in their cars. Overall, basic goods have an inflation rate right now of 3.8 percent. That’s higher than it’s been since 2023. All because of a president who promised to lower prices and tackle inflation, when he’s in fact making things worse. So the last thing this Administration should be doing is forcing families to pay even more at the pump. But that’s exactly what’s going to happen if the Trump Administration succeeds in rolling back our fuel economy standards.”

Markey (D-Mass.) to condemn the Trump Administration’s proposed rollbacks of Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards, which save drivers money by improving gas mileage and reducing oil consumption. “Overall, basic goods have an inflation rate right now of 3.8 percent. “President Trump’s attempt to end birthright citizenship is an attack on the basic rights enshrined in our Constitution. His illegal executive order is nothing more than an attempt to instill fear and chaos in communities throughout America. The Constitution is clear: if you’re born in the United States, you’re a citizen of the United States.”
