“House Appropriators have made it a top priority to restore regular order to the annual government funding process, and today’s House passage of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations bill brings us closer to achieving that objective. Moreover, this bill fully funds support systems for our veterans while also strengthening the infrastructure our servicemembers rely on to protect our nation. It is my hope that we can continue this momentum and pass full‑year funding bills on time for Fiscal Year 2027, fulfilling our responsibility to the American people.”

“Organized retail theft is a serious and intensifying crisis that affects both Main Street shops and national retailers. Higher rates of organized retail and supply chain crime not only hurt these businesses’ bottom lines but also increase prices for consumers—a reality that hardworking Americans cannot afford. This bill builds upon the work I’ve done as Chairman of the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Subcommittee, and I’m proud to support it.”

“Congress took the first step toward addressing the issues that affect our nation’s agricultural and rural communities by delivering historic tax cuts and needed reforms to our social programs last year in the Working Families Tax Cuts law. Today’s package completes our unfinished business by tackling trade barriers, strengthening broadband connectivity, and supporting research and development.”

“Thanks to the efforts of the Arkansas congressional delegation, we secured language allowing SNAP beneficiaries to purchase hot rotisserie chicken—providing a nutritious food option that is currently prohibited under existing law. I am also pleased to see that this legislation fixes California’s left-wing Proposition 12 by clarifying that states and localities cannot impose unreasonable livestock production standards on producers across the country. America’s agricultural producers and rural families deserve commonsense solutions and certainty, and this legislation delivers exactly that.”

“Section 702 is a critical foreign intelligence authority that allows the United States to quickly and effectively stop foreign bad actors, such as spies, hackers, terrorists, and cartel leaders, from inflicting pain on the American public and threatening our national security. Extending this authority will help prevent dangerous gaps in intelligence and keep American lives safe—both of which are especially important amid ongoing overseas military action.”
