“Every day the British Parliament fails to vote on this legislation is another day that the IRGC evades the full impact of our nations’ combined sanctions,” said Congressman Sherman. “The IRGC has waged terrorism around the world for decades, and earlier this year murdered some 30,000 Iranian protesters. The UK must stand with the Iranian people and join the United States in designating the IRGC as a terrorist organization.”

“The President recently posted on social media that ‘when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money.’ The only ones profiting from higher oil prices are U.S. oil companies,” said Congressman Sherman. “For American families, rising oil prices mean higher costs and greater financial strain. My bill will ensure oil companies don’t profit from the hardship facing working families and will help offset the rising costs that Trump’s war has imposed on the American people.”

“During this period of international instability, we have a responsibility to use all available tools to defend American families and our economy,” said Congressman Sherman. “This bill prioritizes consumers by directing our energy resources toward lowering costs here at home instead of allowing companies to chase higher profits at the expense of American consumers,” Sherman added.

“Suspending crude oil exports during the Iran War is a lawful, targeted, and necessary step,” Sherman added. “American oil should first and foremost benefit the American people, who continue to suffer from the affordability crisis cause by President Trump’s reckless policies.”

I will continue fighting to ensure the Jewish community has the resources it needs to live openly, proudly, and safely.”
