“People living with TD often face stigma, which can worsen mental health symptoms and cause withdrawal from society. While TD affects approximately 600,000 Americans, it remains a relatively unknown condition – even to many doctors. This can cause delays in treatment, misdiagnosis, and unnecessary suffering. That is why it is so important for my colleagues and I to shine a light on this awful disorder and highlight the importance of screening for and treating TD.”

“By introducing this resolution in the House of Representatives, Congressman Scott Peters demonstrates his commitment to the health of our nation's citizens. An estimated 800,000 people in the U.S. have tardive dyskinesia (TD), an involuntary movement disorder caused by certain prescription medications. Unfortunately, we believe 60% of those with TD have not been diagnosed. By shining a light on this condition, Congressman Peters is helping raise awareness of TD and helping those who have the disorder get properly screened and treated.”

“The Republican SAVE America Act is a bad solution in search of a problem that doesn’t exist. The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, found that cases of voter fraud were less than one percent of votes cast. They analyzed hundreds of millions of votes cast in several swing states over multiple decades and found less than 100 cases of voter fraud per state. Since 1982, California has had a total of 70 cases of voter fraud. The Senate must reject this undemocratic and un-American attempt at voter suppression.”

“San Diegans know we cannot take our water for granted — that’s why the city and county are investing in long-term solutions like Pure Water. The federal government must help communities across America invest in much-needed drought relief and prevention projects as we continue to face the worsening effects of climate change. Clean water is one of our most basic needs, and I look forward to working with my colleagues in Congress and our local partners to ensure every American has access to safe, reliable water.”
