America is built on the rule of law and the supremacy of the Constitution - not foreign legal systems that conflict with our freedoms and values. The CRUSADE Act makes clear that anyone seeking entry into the United States as a religious worker must affirm their commitment to the Constitution and reject the extremist practices found in sharia law that have been used to justify persecution, violence, and the suppression of basic human rights. Religious liberty is one of our nation’s founding principles, but it cannot come at the expense of the constitutional order that protects all Americans.

My bill draws a hard line - the days of putting illegals, random diversity lotteries, and foreign labor ahead of American workers are over. Our immigration system should serve the American people, not undercut them, and that means selecting individuals who will strengthen our economy, respect our laws, and share our values. If you want to come to the United States, you should earn it through merit, not diversity lotteries or loopholes. The Americans First Immigration Act restores fairness and accountability by protecting American jobs, prioritizing the nuclear family, and ensuring that every immigrant admitted is prepared to contribute and succeed. This legislation is about putting American citizens first and taking back control of our nation's future.

Securing our border and restoring fairness to our immigration system is a top priority for the American people. We currently have an outdated system of chain migration and random lotteries, our workforce gets flooded with cheap, low-skilled labor at the expense of American workers, and our welfare programs get drained by illegal aliens who abuse the system. The Americans First Immigration Act by Rep. Barry Moore (AL-01) would finally turn our immigration system to one based on merit. Americans should have a say in who stays in America. Now with this bill, they will.

This competition is one of my favorite traditions in Congress because it shines a light on the incredible talent we have right here at home. These students represent the very best of Alabama’s creativity and work ethic. This is a tremendous honor for Anabelle, our overall first place winner, who will have her artwork displayed in our nation’s Capitol, where millions of visitors will have the chance to see her painting over the next year. I also want to congratulate all of our winners and honorees for the many hours they put into their pieces and the dedication they have displayed to their craft.
