“I represent Marines and Sailers on Camp Pendleton—some of the most capable, disciplined, and battle-ready men and women this nation has ever produced. So, when this Congress funds the military and our veterans, I take that responsibility seriously,” said Rep. That is how this work is supposed to get done, and this bill is proof that it still can be.”

“I suspect these high numbers are part of Stephen Miller’s demands to meet high detention quotas. What this letter does not answer is how many detainees and removals had a criminal record. That is a question that deserves an answer,” said Rep. Levin. “I expect ICE to keep even more data than this, and they need to be able to provide information on where they are detaining individuals and why. This type of oversight—requiring ICE to do public reporting—is something I will continue to advocate for. This letter paints only half the picture, not a full one.”

“The information I requested will help the public understand the scale of the removal operations being undertaken by the Trump Administration,” continued Rep. Levin. “The public should use these numbers to hold the government accountable and to push for greater transparency about who is being targeted for removal. Without that context, raw deportation figures can easily be used to paint a misleading picture of what these operations actually look like on the ground.”

Mike Levin Secures Over $8.2 Million for Oceanside Harbor Maintenance Dredging Oceanside Harbor April 5, 2026 Oceanside, CA — Today, Rep. Mike Levin (CA-49) announced over $8.2 million in federal funding for Oceanside Harbor maintenance dredging. This funding will enable the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to dredge the harbor twice in 2026: once this spring, work that is currently underway to address treacherous emergency conditions, and again in the fall, before transitioning to a regular annual fall dredging cycle. “I’m proud to have secured over $8.2 million in new federal funding to ensure the Oceanside Harbor continues to be a lifeline for our commercial users, our military, and the surrounding community,” said Rep. Levin. “Regular dredge work is critical to keeping the harbor open, and this additional funding will allow the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to address emergency conditions and continue maintenance dredging operations. This funding will ensure that all of those who use this harbor are able to do so safely.” Oceanside Harbor is the only harbor between San Diego and Dana Point in Orange County.
