“Washington, D.C. – Rep. Kiley (I-CA) issued the following statement following the Virginia Supreme Court’s decision invalidating the newly gerrymandered congressional map. “I am glad Virginia will continue to have fair district lines, just as I applauded the decision by Indiana Republicans not to undertake a mid-decade gerrymander. No one is ‘winning’ the redistricting war. Our democracy […]”

“It is unacceptable that Congress is out of session while the Department of Homeland Security shutdown continues. I’m calling for the Senate and House to reconvene and remain in session until this impasse is resolved. At a time when our national security and essential services are at stake, lawmakers should be doing everything possible to reach a solution. TSA agents and the American people have already felt the consequences of this gridlock for far too long. The two chambers and the two parties must stop blaming one another and instead focus on finding common ground.”
